Chinese Coromandel Lacquer Screen

A wonderful late 19th Century Chinese coromandel four fold lacquer screen.

Consisting of four double-sided panels decorated in the most wonderfully vibrant colours with carved and incised decoration. One side showing courtly scenes of figures in pavilions within landscaped water gardens, bordered by fabulous dragons, lions and tigers. The other side carved with large scale mythical birds in flowering trees.

Minor losses and retouching to the surfaces with age-related bumps and bruises. Each panel is 62cm wide.
